This image of an Orca titled Orca Gymnastics, was taken in Salish Sea at dusk with perfect light, and while I have tried to get this image again, I am realizing now it might be once in a lifetime.

This shot was difficult because the moment lasted only a breath: the tail rose, flashed, and fell while the boat and the whale both moved. High contrast between glossy black skin and bright white patches makes exposure unforgiving, autofocus can hunt on wet surfaces, and timing one perfect frame while balancing on the swell left no room for error.
